Enrico Pieranunzi: pianoforte

Enrico Pieranunzi has for many years been amongst the most famous and respected protagonists of the international jazz scene. Pianist, composer, arranger, he has recorded more than seventy records in his name collaborating with Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, Charlie Haden.
Three times best Italian musician in “Top Jazz” and best European musician in 1997, he brought his music to the stages of the world performing in important international festivals. “Live at the Village Vanguard” is the first CD ever made by an Italian musician in the historic diamond-shaped club of New York. The blues, Scarlatti, a song by Gershwin, a saraband by Haendel. Pieranunzi’s new piano solo challenges the clichés and the laws of geometry, making jazz and classical, two parallel lines that meet. These challenges developed very early in his musical life when the sounds of Parker, Django, Konitz and Chet Baker lived alongside those of Bach and Chopin. It still happens today, more and more, in his free, personal and unique piano style. Without boundaries .
