Sade Mangiaracina Trio with Marcello Peghin
Sade Mangiaracina is one of the most promising young Italian musicians. Born in 1986, the Sicilian pianist and composer (of Castelvetrano) will present at JazzAlguer her new album “Le mie donne-My Women”, published in May 2018 by Paolo Fresu’s Tǔk Music. The album – which is accompanied by Marco Bardoscia on the double bass and Gianluca Brugnano on drums – is a tribute to the woman, a gallery of portraits in music of female figures who with their courage and their strength have established themselves by going against discrimination, prejudices and common feeling: from Rosa Parks to Amelia Hearheart, from Coco Chanel to Anne Frank, through Malala Yousafzai, Rita Atria, Frida Kahlo and Nobel Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. Sade composed and arranged all the pieces, which highlight his Mediterranean soul inserted in the context of improvised music.
Special guest for this concert, the guitarist from Alghero, Marcello Peghin, at ease both in cultured and improvised music. In his curriculum, experiences with musicians of different backgrounds and great calibers, such as Dino Saluzzi, Enrico Rava, Tony Scott, Lester Bowie, and Sainkho Namtchilak.
